Become a leader of our hospitality team! The Assistant Property Manager will lead the operations at Timberline Motel. This role is ideal for someone passionate about hospitality and thrives in managing guest relations, facility upkeep, and maintaining team morale. 

This position requires working four days a week. Two days will be spent as the manager or Person in Charge (POC), which involves overseeing the cleaning team, being the main point of contact for guests, and being available for on-call, after-hours guest support. The other two days, you will work as a supporting member of our hospitality team from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

This is a great position for someone looking to begin and grow a career in hospitality. We are a small but growing operation and welcome new ideas for how we can level up our offering and guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Property Manager and assume responsibilities during the Manager’s absence.

Team Management

  • Set up team tasks + scheduling (Manager’s off days).
  • Establish sheet requirements for housekeepers.
  • Assist in bed sheet stripping to allow housekeepers to attend to other duties.
  • Act as a room runner to deliver additional products/replacements to housekeepers.
  • Manage mini bar and incidental expenses for guests 
  • Restock and replenish supplies after housekeepers have finished their shifts.
  • Maintain the room ratio of 1:4 (e.g. ensure each housekeeper is assigned to four rooms)
  • Manage room assignments accordingly; for instance, if there are more than nine rooms, the Assistant Manager/Manager will assist in balancing room assignments.
  • Run and fold laundry as it comes from rooms.
  • Manage laundry tasks on the Manager’s day off.

Guest Management

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences, addressing their needs and resolving issues effectively.
  • During the manager’s day off, assist in managing phone calls and online bookings and manage guest communications via phone, text, and email.
  • If the Assistant Manager is off-site, coordinate with staff to ensure coverage, with employees clocking in for a minimum of 30 minutes to handle in-person errands until a suitable solution is found.

Hospitality Operations

  • Support the PM with managing the motel’s inventory and supplies.
  • Handle day-to-day repairs and light maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain grounds, including plant watering and snow removal

Store Management

  • Assist in-store setup and inventory management
  • Process online, in-person, and mini-bar sales 
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist in inventory management processes.

Our Ideal Candidate is

  • Experienced in property or hospitality management.
  • Strong in leadership and team management skills.
  • An excellent communicator and comfortable in customer service
  • Competent in online booking systems and digital communication
  • Efficient, able to adhere to quick turnaround times without sacrificing quality
  • Able to perform light maintenance tasks.
  • Flexible to meet guest needs during on-call days.
  • A fluent English speaker 
  • Positive, open to adventure, and meeting new people 
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Able to lift 50lbs

Compensation: ~$500/week, housing included

This position pays $150 set rate per day for POC days (est 2/week), and $20/hour for housekeeping days (est. 10 hours per week).

The assistant manager will receive a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment. The apartment includes linens, dining furniture, a TV, a couch, dishes, pots, and pans. The kitchen is simple but functional, equipped with a refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, and toaster oven. Laundry facilities are available on site, just two doors down from the apartment. The apartment is located on Harrison Avenue, the main street of downtown Leadville. The market rate for this apartment is $1200 per month.
We understand that finding suitable housing for family members and pets can be challenging. However, please note that our housing is exclusively reserved for team members. The Assistant Property Manager may have a partner live with them onsite, but we do not allow children in employee housing. Pets may be permitted on a case-by-case basis.

Note that our busiest days are on weekends, and we cannot grant additional time off in July or August due to high demand during our summer season.
