I have a special place in my heart for the Timberline. The loft use to be apartments that my Grandpa and other family members lived in. The Timberline reconstructed the 3 apartments in to one big Loft. They did a wonderful job!!! My husband and I stayed in the loft for 5 days this summer. It’s just a magical space. So many memories from my childhood. The views are incredible. Can’t wait to go back next year.

Ended up having to cut a backpacking trip nearby short because of weather and we didn’t get back into town until after midnight. We were able to check into the timberline motel without a hitch. The “motel” part of the name made me think that we were going to be checking into a motel 8 kind of scenario, but the timberline was anything but! We were met with tons of modern amenities, incredibly comfortable beds, and the cleanest “motel” I’ve ever seen. They even let us have a late check out since we checked in so late. Don’t sleep on this place! Will definitely be back if I ever find myself in Leadville again.

Just stay here, I promise you won’t regret it ☺ This is one of my all time favourite places to stay, it looked kinda average from the photos but got such great reviews and now I know why. The secret weapon at Timberline are the smart, caring and kind staff who always take time out to make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable. I have never experienced anything like it! Also - the rooms are modern and cool, the location is amazing (walk to everything locally), bed is out of this world comfy, and you get smiles every day from staff who care (and if you’re lucky/- some pretty interesting convos 😝) I miss them already! ❤️ ☹ Nothing

A great place to stay before hikes in the area. Everything is brand new, and the mattresses are very comfortable. The only things that make it 4 and not 5 stars are the relatively high price for what you get, and the fact that there is no way to cool it down, at least we haven't found one. It was very hot at night, especially in the tiny rooms

Comfortable, Clean, Classy and Cool Comfortable, clean, classy and cool. We had a magical stay at the Loft at the Timberline Motel with our family. We loved pushing our kids to be outside hiking and seeing the sights in this beautiful part of the world, but they loved the Loft so much we could have stayed inside all day. The main room is cozy with an open floor plan and a great table for family dinner or Trivial Pursuit, dice, or a great National Parks Game complete with detailed Timberline logo stickers. We will be back. Rooms were comfortable and clean. I loved the sheets and towels so much I checked the brand (Parachute) so I can perhaps get them for my own home. Abundant shelving, great shampoo and conditioner. We enjoyed biking the spectacular Mineral Trail during peak Aspen season. It is breathtaking. We also took advantage of many kid friendly hikes at Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes (Interlaken Trail), and The Grotto Trail just past Independence Pass. Located right on Leadville's main drag, Harrison Ave, we walked to great breakfast and dinner each night. High end shops like Gigi's General Store and thrift shops another block up the street were fun to explore. A gorgeous fully decked out kitchen with high end appliances welcomed us as we walked into the Loft at Timberline Motel. My kids' eyes were quickly caught by an alpine skiing stand up video game behind gorgeous leather couches and a cool stove. Puzzles and family games were abundant and fun to play. Communication was easy! The code to our door was texted to us early the day of our arrival and check in was a breeze. We walked right into our Loft. We did not need extra support, but found the team accommodating throughout our stay. Hooks adorned the entrance, the back mud hall and each room. I love hooks for coats, bag, etc. They allow me to feel organized. Washer and dryer came in handy!

Great spot with lots to do around. Walking distance to everything downtown and 23 minute drive from elbert. Didn't realize there was no AC, was a little hot in the room but otherwise great stay.

UPDATE: Finally ended up actually staying here for a night in between ski days at Cooper. Great location and room was clean, bright and well thought out. Kitchenette is more than sufficient and nicely equipped. Beds are comfy and the bunk room is perfect for kids. Views were also great from room 9! Original review: We’ve had paid reservations to stay here twice and had to cancel both times due to unforeseen circumstances. Nell had been SO helpful throughout our attempts to stay at the Timberline. She’s been extremely responsive, courteous and kind—what a host! We haven’t had the chance to actually stay here yet but I can confidently say customer service is 10/10.

We didn’t quite know what to expect from what is essentially a roadside motel off of the Main Street and we were so pleasantly surprised. We had a super comfy room with bunk beds for our boys and the decor was really enjoyable. Bed linens were very clean and comfy beds. Great night’s rest. A soft leather couch made lounging easy on a rainy day and the kitchen is small but has what you need to heat up leftovers or make a few simple meals (there was no microwave but a toaster oven). Owner was very friendly and has plans for further additions and amenities. You are right along the Main Street for coffee, meals and dining and you have a great view of the Rockies as soon as you get outside into the parking lot. I totally recommend for an affordable and comfortable stay.
