Guest Experience & Housekeeping — Hybrid Position with Housing

Home / Jobs / Guest Experience & Housekeeping — Hybrid Position with Housing

The Timberline · Leadville, Colorado · Year-round · Housing included

The job

The Timberline is a small, independent motel on Harrison Avenue in Leadville. This role has two halves, and both are about the same thing: making sure every guest has a good stay.

Two days a week you’re our Guest Experience Manager. You’re the person guests text, call, and meet. You handle check-ins and check-outs, keep guest bills clean in Mews, open the front office and shop in the afternoon, light the fire pits, and answer the phone overnight if someone gets locked out.

Three days a week you’re on the housekeeping and laundry team. You turn rooms, run linens, restock, and make sure each room meets our standard before it’s marked ready.

Because you work both sides, you’ll understand the property better than almost anyone here — what a ready room looks like, and what the guest sees when they walk into it.

Pay, schedule, and housing

  • Guest Experience days (2 per week): $150 per day. These are on-call days built around four hours in the office — 9:30–10:30 AM and 3:30–6:30 PM — plus staying reachable overnight. Outside those hours you’re free to be off property as long as you can respond within 30 minutes.
  • Housekeeping days (3 per week): $16 per hour, 9:30 AM–3:30 PM.
  • Paid bi-weekly. Five days a week total. Which days are which is set with the team and shifts with the season.
  • Housing: a private apartment on property at 216 Harrison Avenue, utilities and internet included.
  • Phone: $30 monthly stipend.
  • Start: we’re hoping for a start in early-to-mid October, or mid-November for someone who needs to relocate, with some flexibility either way.

This is a year-round position. Summer and winter are busy; spring and fall are slower, and we’re happy to work around travel and time off in the quiet stretches.

What a Guest Experience day looks like

  • Morning: review last night’s check-outs, close bills in Mews, confirm the cleaning list with the housekeeping team, and reply to anything that came in overnight.
  • Midday: stay reachable by phone and text; keep an eye on room status as housekeeping works.
  • Afternoon: staff the office and shop, inspect rooms before check-in, make sure every arriving guest has their door code, update the day’s arrivals sheet, set out blankets and s’mores kits, light the fire pits.
  • Evening: be available for guest needs, power down the fire pits at 9 PM, reset the courtyard.

A few things we’ll ask of you on these days, because they matter more than anything else on the list: every guest message gets a reply, the arrivals sheet is kept current so the whole team knows who’s coming and what each room needs, and unknown numbers that text us get matched to their reservation.

What a housekeeping day looks like

  • Turn rooms after check-out to our standard, prioritizing same-day turns so rooms are ready on time.
  • Run the laundry cycle — wash, dry, fold, restock — and keep the laundry room organized.
  • Restock room supplies, amenities, and mini bars.
  • Check each room before marking it ready in Mews.
  • Coordinate with the team and front office in Slack on room status.

Tools

Hello Hotel (calls and texts), Mews (property management), Gmail, Slack, RemoteLock and Schlage (door codes), and the Airbnb, Expedia, and Booking.com messaging inboxes. You don’t need to know any of these coming in. You do need to be comfortable learning software and using it every day.

Who does well here

  • You’re warm with guests and clear in writing. Most guest contact is by text.
  • You’re organized without being told to be — you’d rather keep a list than remember.
  • You’re steady when a check-in goes sideways or three rooms need to turn at once, and you work well with a small team where everyone pitches in.
  • You take pride in a clean room and notice when something’s off.
  • You like Leadville, or think you would, and enjoy pointing people toward the good stuff.
  • You’re authorized to work in the U.S. and can lift up to 50 pounds.
